Created through grant funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Inclusive Excellence Grant, the Science Hub @ the CLC is a way to connect students and faculty in STEM fields to each other to increase outside of class learning, community, and collaboration.
We offer programming geared towards student success in STEM, both for students here at VCU and students interested in transferring to VCU from one of our community college partners.
For faculty, the Science Hub offers faculty development opportunities geared toward fostering STEM success.
Our ultimate goal at the Science Hub is to break down the barriers between students and faculty to create a community of scientists and mathematicians at VCU.
Check back here often for information about our latest opportunities, helpful videos to enhance your VCU STEM experience, and to learn more about the Science Hub @ the CLC. If you have questions, would like to meet with a Science Hub representative, or have a great idea for programming please do not hesitate to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
One of the Science Hub's key initiatives, Student Hours is like office hours - in reverse! Faculty members come to meet students (rather than vice versa) to answer questions, provide support, and build a positive and productive relationship.
Student Hours are currently held in Cabell Library, Room 250, on the following days:
- Wednesdays, 2-4 p.m.
- Fridays, 9-11 a.m.
Faculty currently attending Student Hours include include representatives from math, biology, chemistry and physics.
