At this time all in-person testing services have very limited availability. If you have a question about CLEP, proctored or make-up testing, please email clc@vcu.edu or call (804) 827-8108. For questions about math placement testing, please review VCU mathematics placement.
Campus Testing Center
The Campus Testing Center provides comprehensive testing services for Virginia Commonwealth University students and the greater Richmond community.
Make-up tests
The testing center provides make-up testing services to VCU faculty and students. If a faculty member chooses to offer a student a make-up exam, the center can proctor that exam in a secure and quiet facility. It is the discretion of the faculty member to choose to offer the exam to the student.
Faculty members should complete a Testing Center Make-up Testing form for each student. Once a faculty member has authorized the make-up exam, students should contact (804) 827-8108 or clc@vcu.edu to schedule their exams.
Faculty members can submit and pick up exams Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students must bring their VCUCard to the make-up exam.
Test proctoring
The testing center offers test proctoring services for non-VCU students. Tests from outside the university can be administered in a secure environment.
Test takers should prepare for the test with the following:
- A scheduled proctoring services appointment, which can be completed by phone, email or an in-person visit to the Campus Learning Center, Hibbs Hall, Room 120
- A photo ID
- A proctoring test fee of $25 for the first two hours and $10 for each additional hour (check or money order only)
Test providers should give a copy of the test to the coordinator. Contact us at (804) 827-8108 with any questions.
CLEP testing
The testing center offers College-Level Examination Program testing for VCU students looking to earn credit by exam. Visit our CLEP exams page for more details.
